Andrew Swenson
Andrew grew up in Darwin and left to attend university completing first the Bachelor of Architectural Studies and then the Bachelor of Architecture at the University of Adelaide.
After a short stint working for the South Australian Housing Trust Andrew returned to Darwin to work as a Graduate Architect first for Hames Sharley then Spowers Architects.
In 2001 after 6 years with Spowers Architects Andrew gained his registration as an Architect in the Northern Territory and left Spowers to focus on improving his skills in using 3D software to deliver projects.
Andrew settled on the business name of in4D not only due to the reference to time in terms of walkthroughs, animations etc. but also having experienced working on joint ventures while with Spowers he liked the play on words, eg. Spowers.in4D.
Andrew splits his time between being Dad to Macey, Elisabet & Isabel, Husband and business partner to Julia and her business Territory Therapy Solutions, Architect and member of Darwin Baptist Church.
Since the start of 2019 Andrew has been an elected member of the Australian Institute of Architects (AIA) NT Chapter Council and has been involved with a range of AIA activities within the NT.
2020 NT Architecture Awards Jury member
Mentor & Jury member on various SONA (Student Organised Network for Architecutre) events such as:

Upscale 2020
As an Architect Andrew specialises in using ArchiCAD a 3D BIM software solution that allows a 3D model to be built of the project from concept design right through to construction documentation.
ArchiCAD along with Artlantis & Twinmotion allows Andrew to visualise the project through various means allowing the client to better understand what the project looks like before any soil is turned on site.
Andrew’s experience covers all aspects of architectural practice across concept design & development applications through design development to construction documentation and contract administration with a portfolio of projects that spans across residential (from extensions to existing houses, new builds of single dwellings to multi-storey apartments), commercial, retail, hospitality, defence, healthcare, industrial, education, modular & transportable buildings.
Through personal experience and his connection to Territory Therapy Solutions Andrew also has an intimate working knowledge of Disability Access issues in buildings including the Accessibility requirements contained within the National Construction Code and Australian Standard AS1428.
